Hi, I'm Jay. My hope is to help you find the confidence and the tools to use your voice, your skills, and your creativity to become the fullest version of yourself.
I aim to offer a warm, supportive environment where clients can explore their strengths and the areas they want to grow, build communication and conflict-resolution skills, and feel celebrated for exactly who they are. I especially love this work with young people and their families, because when one person begins to heal and communicate differently, the ripple effects strengthen the whole family.
I bring an integrative, person-centered approach and draw on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), psychoanalytic therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, humanistic therapy, behavioral activation, art therapy, family systems therapy, and play therapy. I tailor the work to each person and each family, meeting you where you are.
Working With Me
I most enjoy working with adolescents, young adults, and their families, as well as neurodivergent and queer youth and adults. My goal is to create a space where you feel genuinely understood and supported, where you can strengthen your voice, and where you can practice the skills that help you navigate relationships and life with more confidence.
Supporting Adolescents and Young Adults
Growing up carries real weight, and young people deserve a space that feels safe enough to be honest in. I offer adolescents and young adults a warm, nonjudgmental place to explore who they are, make sense of what they are feeling, and build the communication and coping skills that will serve them well beyond our sessions. Whether a young person is working through anxiety, identity questions, or family tension, I meet them with curiosity, patience, and respect.
Healing That Strengthens the Whole Family
Young people do not grow in isolation, and neither does healing. When an adolescent feels truly heard, the whole household feels the difference, and when families learn new ways to understand one another, connection has room to grow. Using family systems approaches, I help families move through intergenerational conflict, bridge differences in perspective, and build the kind of trust and communication that lets everyone feel more at home together. Every family deserves a safe place to grow, connect, and belong.
Affirming, Identity-Centered Care
I am queer, neurodivergent, and a second-generation Nigerian immigrant. My lived experience inspired me to pursue the schooling and research that help me offer effective, affirming support to queer, neurodivergent, and multiple marginalized communities. The intersection of my own identities gives me a lens through which I can speak to a wide range of experiences and empathize with my clients on a deeper level. I want everyone I work with to feel that the fullness of who they are is not just accepted here, but honored.
