Hi! I’m Jessica. Let’s embark on this journey of healing, growth, and self-compassion today.
I'm a Taiwanese therapist based in Los Angeles, with experience across senior homes, treatment centers, hospitals, and community mental health settings. My work centers on fostering healing, strengthening relationships, and supporting growth and agency across the lifespan. I have a particular passion for supporting Asian, Asian American, and BIPOC communities, bringing both professional expertise and lived understanding as a first-generation immigrant to my therapeutic practice.
I believe everyone has an innate capacity to heal, along with strengths that can support them through life's challenges. As someone who recognizes how intersecting identities and social systems shape our mental health and everyday experiences, I strive to create a space of safety, authenticity, and curiosity where you can explore your thoughts and feelings and show up as you are. Together, we can identify and strengthen your inherent qualities so you feel more equipped to navigate difficulties, rebuild trust in yourself, and move closer to the life you want to live.
Working With Me
Therapy with me is collaborative and grounded in trust and respect. I value meeting you where you are and shaping our work around what feels most helpful and meaningful to you. You are the expert at your own life, the gardener of your own growth, and I'm here to empower, support, and provide tools to help you navigate the seasons and flourish beyond. I show up to sessions with attunement and ongoing curiosity, understanding the value of a strong therapeutic relationship and the impact of open, genuine conversations in the healing process.
I take an integrative approach, blending structured methods, solution-focused techniques, and strengths-based strategies. I often encourage the use of art, somatic exercises, mindfulness, and other expressive practices, recognizing the deep connection between our mind and body. Starting therapy can feel overwhelming and disorienting, so in our initial sessions, we'll take the time to understand you and your experiences, clarify your goals, and explore how therapy can best support you. We can start with small, sturdy steps that open the door to meaningful change and long-term growth.
Anxiety and Depression
We all have low days or moments of panic, but at times these feelings can become persistent and difficult to manage. You might feel swept up in anxious thoughts or weighed down by unhelpful narratives, even as life continues to move forward around you.
Therapy can be a space to regain balance and catch your breath. We’ll practice strategies to manage stress and navigate overwhelming emotions, such as learning ways to pause and regulate when situations feel intense. We’ll explore your behavioral patterns, relationship dynamics, and triggers, helping you notice what fuels certain reactions and how you can respond differently. We’ll fortify your confidence in facing life’s challenges, whether that means setting boundaries or approaching new experiences with greater courage and self-assurance. In our work together, we’ll support your path toward feeling more grounded, capable, and connected to yourself.
Children and Teens
Growing up and navigating change can feel overwhelming, confusing, and sometimes scary, especially without the proper tools to express feelings and make sense of the world. As a teen, it’s easy to feel pulled in many directions by school, friends, and family, all while trying to figure out who you are and what your future might hold. As a caretaker, it can feel tricky when navigating big emotional moments.
Therapy provides a safe space to make sense of complicated feelings and unpack jumbled thoughts. Together, we can build emotional awareness, strengthen coping skills, and practice communicating more effectively. We can slow down, gain clarity, and make room for curiosity and growth.
Neurodiversity Affirming
Whether you’ve long identified as neurodivergent or are just beginning to explore what it means, I’m here to support your journey. Being neurodivergent can feel like moving through life on a different wavelength than those around you. You may experience the world more intensely, think in non-linear ways, or find yourself constantly adapting to expectations that feel unnatural to you.
I want to provide a validating and non-pathologizing place for you to come as you are. We will make room for the full range of your experience, the strengths you carry, and the obstacles you face. Therapy is not about “fixing” you, but a space to find relief and discover what works best for you.
It is an honor and a gift for me to do this work, and I hope to join you on your journey towards the life you want to live.
